Day 10: Summary of the 10 day blog challenge!

1. What you enjoyed most: Learning a new method of productivity. Utilizing the Pomodoro Method has been amazing, thanks Natalie! Also enjoyed the low pressure accountability, the simple and fun challenge of questions that cause us to look deeper into ourselves. Also, the potential prize at the end! So want to win a trip to Baliiiiiiii for further self improvement.

2. Your favorite challenge day and why: My favorite challenge was Day 3! I love to dream BIG and achieve big. My running the Norway Midnight Sun Marathon, my 500 mile bicycle tour, living vegan and travel…I love being descriptive about dreams to realize. It’s too easy to circulate thoughts about negativity or distract ourselves, as our culture tends to encourage. It takes bravery to dream big, crystallize it and live it. I loved the invitation to lean into this.

3. The biggest takeaway you’ve had from it: Consistency is not as hard as I thought it might be.

4. The next step you’re going to take to make your freedom plan a reality: This gives me momentum to continue to be more consistent with what I want to make more time for. In other words, follow the plan from Day 7! Yes.

Day 9: Location Independence + the work/life balance.

So my partner and I have jumped full in and already are rocking the location independence. I remember last year being on a vacation and looking him in the eye as we agreed had to make it a priority to live our dreams together. Now we run a business that frees up our time and life, spending the winters in warmer locations enjoying coconut waters on a beach together, and the beautiful summers here in the northeast of the USA. Besides providing immense value, this is the whole reason why we started our vegan marketing business.

We can work from anywhere, make our own schedules, and live the lives we want to lead.

Work / life balance

So here’s the thing: What gets prioritized is what gets done. If you have a passive income business/work is delegated properly and you want to frolic on the beach all day, by all means go for it! But if you have work that needs to get done, schedule out a time for it or it won’t get done while you’re having fun.

We recently attended a raw vegan festival with nonstop activities, attending with some of our best friends we don’t see often. Guess what? We had to schedule time to shut away to get work done. Had to.

Personal and work time need to be scheduled while away from home base. Also, at home, now that I’m thinking about it. When you make time for both, life is fully lived.

We plan to be in Hawaii for about a month this winter. Now that I have strategies to get work and get play in, I’m confident in the future and my location independent life. What’s your strategy?

Day 8: Choose Your Adventure.

Catching the view and smell of the ocean
as you approach the water off a cliff is astounding. The warm breeze lifts up your hair and the horizon greets you with a glorious view. At this time of month and year, the full harvest moon rises above the water as the day subsides gently. This is today's adventure for me.

It is so important to live the life you want to lead. There is a balance to be struck to become your best self. There is always time for adventure, for fitness, for living the life you truly want. If people have time to watch tv for hours upon hours when they argue they "don't have time", you have time to self improve and live the life you want. I'm stretching my legs while typing this!

As we say with our friends, "Best day every day, all day every day." Have a great one!

This blog post is in response to Natalie’s 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge Day 7

What’s one action that can be taken every day to beat procrastination?

Between running my business, exercising, planning for travel and keeping my sanity through meditation, I don’t make much time for two things that are important to my heart.

1. Drawing. The pic up at the top is a recent piece of mine. I get into the zone when I draw, it’s good for relaxation, and if I’m financially driven I could even sell these! To create the time to be able to do this thing I’ve loved since I was a child is a good motivator to delegate our business properly. All that is necessary is to schedule make time for it. In fact, drawing is a stress reliever and could help me get my actual work done with a refreshed mind, if I were to dedicate 30 minutes a day to drawing.

2. AnastasiaRaw YouTube channel. I do have many videos up, an ok following, and many more videos in the pipeline that could give insight and help others, however I don’t upload consistently and I need a system to live my dream in this way. It doesn’t help that it takes my internet 2.5 hours on average to upload a 3 minute youtube video, but it also doesn’t take much to make it a daily ritual or alternate day ritual to work on them 30mins-1hour a day. People ask me when my next videos are going up, so a good time to step up is now.

A good, doable plan is to schedule out 30 mins a day to work, on alternative days, either drawing OR my youtube channel.

What is your action plan to break your inertia?

It's funny, isn't it? If you're into self improvement you hear it repeatedly. Find your tribe. Find a mentor. I pride myself that I have...sort of. This question surprised me. I'm probably at 80% of what I could be doing (I do have a great life), which is better than average, but not 100%. What if you only got up stairs 80% of the time because you hadn't been exercising? You could get up stairs 100% of the time just by working out. Maybe after starting yesterday’s productivity Pomodoro method of 25mins work/5 min relax cycle my percentages are up, but it’s a valid question:

Who are 1-2 people you find inspiring and what would you ask them?

1. Tony Robbins. He knows achievement and living a life of grandeur. I would ask him how I could run my business better, heal any shortcomings and live the best life possible. This man is all about maximizing. Side Note: I went to the Unleash the Power Within event a couple months ago and this man was 15 feet from me on the stage. He turned and looked right at me for a bit. I was happy. Wynter, Nathan and I also got on the big screen a couple times! I know we look good together :)

2. Rich Roll. His podcast on becoming the best version of yourself has accompanied me on many a long bicycle ride and car ride building my business. He’s helped me to expand my horizons, and allowed me participate in events like joining the Iron Cowboy in his 50 ironmans in 50 days challenge across the USA. He has heart, drive, achieves on a grand scale, and is sharing insights of great people, changing the world for the better. I would ask him how I could run my Youtube better, and who else to reach out to.

Realistically, I think connecting with a successful female CEO that's in a similar but non-competing business exponentially assist my trajectory. Someone who runs a field sales marketing business.

Also, I need to visit and learn from people that have sustainable Earthship homes in the climate I aim to have mine in. Instead of having a guru in this field, my plan is to visit various homes to get different perspectives when I'm in Hawaii this winter. Micheal Reynolds, the founder of the Earthship design also has an "academy", where you take part in building a home to learn it from the inside out.

Other, less realistic options include: the first Vikings to America, The Chinese Empress Wu Zetien, Catherine The Great, and I can think of some others. Great question to keep in mind!

This blog post is in response to Natalie’s 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge Day 5

Day 5: Setting yourself up for success. Create a daily success plan. What does it look like?

I often feel like a wild animal inside a human body. I will actually go and play outside all day if I don't have a system that works to serve as guidelines to help me get things done and then get my work done in one large session at night because I'm determined. That clearly isn't optimal. So how do you get everything done without having 8 arms and legs or a couple doppelgängers? Over the years I've found strategies that work for me that make time to stretch and move my body around sessions of productivity.

This is what's been working for me. My current morning routine actually starts the evening before when I go to sleep ideally around 9-10pm. The following morning, first thing, I go in my backyard and run 4 rounds of sprints to wake myself up and oxygenate my system. After I've enjoyed the morning dew on the grass, I spend about 10-30 minutes meditating on the (dry) balcony. Often I exercise in the morning after this, shower, then it's on to work.

For work I'm currently experimenting with strategies that go something like this:

25 mins: focused work. 5 mins: stretch; walk; reset in general. Rinse and repeat.

Another strategy is to increase work time to 60-90 minutes instead of 25. I've been informally falling into a pattern similar to this. Currently I'm refining my home-grown version of work hard until I can't stand it, break free and go outside, then back working hard, to something like the above mentioned that has more structured guidelines. My body tends to force me to take breaks either way. When I have an actual plan, it gets rid of decision fatigue, anxiety, or any sense that I'm not being productive enough. It is a relief.

I am happy to say that over the years I've been successful enough with my strategies to often be working from home managing a team as the CEO of a vegan marketing company; my own boss. I look up at the night sky from my balcony as I type this with a smile on my face and gratitude in my heart, knowing I am in fact living the life I want to lead and actualizing that more and more every day.

It feels good.

This blog post is in response to Natalie’s 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge Day 4

Day 4: What is your superpower in real life? What would your friends and colleagues say it is?

I have two, from what I have seen and others have told me. My first I wouldn’t consider a superpower if it hadn’t been pointed out to me again and again. I take action towards my grandest goals and take great pride in that. I suppose there a lot of people that talk but don’t take action? I must live the life I want to lead, and there is no other way. Why else are we alive?

“You must live while you are alive, for you are a long time dead.” - Scottish Proverb

The other is the power of influence. Why? Because I create win-win-winfinity scenarios. That is, in fact, what my whole business, which is EXPLODING in popularity, is all about: sales through the power of influence! It’s cool to see someone go from not interested to buying your product, and knowing it will benefit them. When I posed this question to the people in my circle today, they all said independently that I see the best in people and bring that out, using the power of influence. Kind of cool, eh?

Ah, and art. My mom said that one ;) Hence the pic.

So I know I’ll get to my dreams because I take action and have the power of influence. It’s a good life. What about you?

This blog post is in response to Natalie’s 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge Day 3

Day 3: Time to dream big! Visualize your perfect day. Mine sounds like this, with PICS below (go see them they are worth seeing).

Sunlight is streaming through the windows of our Earthship Hawaii home. I sigh happily looking out my windows to the view of the ocean and the sun sparkling on the waves in the arms of my lover and partner. Time for an hour of yoga, deep breathing and Pilates in our fitness room: a spacious hard-wood floor room opening up to a great view; a place to inspire calm and self-improvement. I love working out followed by meditation first thing in the morning!

A couple hours later: Nathan, Wynter and I just got back from surfing, are laughing and high fiving as we walk back in from a beautiful day outside. Speaking of self-improvement, we are getting ready to go traveling for an active, fun adventure trip as we hold a retreat in our earthship home for people looking to improve their lives and relationships. We’re bringing in experts to hold the retreat as we go abroad and passively make income. We can kick back and enjoy coconut waters on a beach together.

I’m happy and content knowing our marketing business is also going well and check on things… Yep, all is well. We just got another reference letter on how another grateful client shares how we have exponentially increased their profits and reach. We have financial freedom between running our marketing business that promotes healthy natural foods products expanding their sales, between our holistic retreat center on hawaii we also live at, and of course our funny and inspiring Youtube adventures around the planet!

I smile, remembering a recent video and my eyes fall onto the brilliant painting I had the pleasure of creating on the wall. I suddenly feel deep gratitude for changing my life around so I have time to do art and enjoy life with the people closest to me. I decide to move to the piano to practice and record a bit. I make it a point to put out an album of my creative music every year or so, and this one is going so well!

Wynter walks by and runs fingers on my arm followed by a kiss as tells me he’ll be making sure the finances are in order and taxes are working in our favor before we leave for our trip. I nod and Nathan drapes over my shoulder and gives my shoulders a quick massage as he tells me he’s going to check on the fruit orchards and house/solar panels etc before we go, after all we built the house of our dreams and it needs some maintenance love before we go. I laugh at the reference and feel like a Viking queen living the dream. It’s all a choice.

Later in the evening we dress up for a nice going-away dinner and party at our place with many our friends there. I walk towards my loving man in a nice blazer jacket as he sees and turns to me. He smiles and opens his arms to me and I rush into his embrace; we hold each other tight, rocking back and forth. It slowly turns into a slow dance to the romantic music in the reception hall. His hands hold my back and fingers run through my hair as we sway back and forth and I sigh happily, embracing with him. He whispers adventure to me and we step away from the crowd and into the night where the full moon is above us and the stars sparkle. We kiss outside on an epic balcony to the sound of clinking glasses and laughter inside, and the breeze moving the trees outside, with the sound of the ocean. He looks into my eyes, happiness shining from within from us being together and I whisper something to him. We jump over the balcony to the grass then run to the close-by ocean where we take off our shoes to feel the sand in our toes and then the water on our feet. We gaze over the ocean, laughing, then he picks me up and kisses me to the sound of the waves. It’s a perfect night, and we sigh with contented happiness with each other, and know we have a whole life of loving and adventure together in our future.

Later after the party is done and we’ve showered off the salt of the sea, we hear thunder and the pitter-patter of a light storm. We tuck into bed to fall asleep and our legs intertwine as we hear the rain falling peacefully on the leaves outside.

This blog post is in response to Natalie’s 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge Day 2

Day 2: What is your WHY?
1. For me, as you all know, “live the life you want to lead” is my tag line because it is my daily mantra. When I physically realized that I could actually live how I dreamed of, it transformed my life. We are alive to follow our hearts, to become our best and most joyous.

By delegating my business effectively, I can relax more, enjoy life, do the things that juice me up and bring me deep joy, to make progress in my life in ALL areas. To contribute to the world MORE value and be more generous in life, expand my YouTube channel for example to help people and make the world a better place! It creates a virtuous cycle.

2. Why figure out the price of my dreams? So I can achieve them. By moving to Hawaii and building our off-the-grid home, not only does that help the planet, we create a retreat-center for health, exponentially improve the quality of my life and my partner’s, but having a self-sustaining home pays for an early retirement and helps us save more money to do further good in the world, such as starting a foundation or contributing to causes we believe in. It also achieves a dream I’ve had since I was 5.

3. Why do all the various creative projects my heart calls me to do? Why, to live the life I want to lead, of course, and to involve + improve the quality of life for those around me.

This blog post is in response to Natalie’s 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge Day 1

Day 1: What are 2-3 of your most current challenges?

1. Finding #freedom through my business. Delegating all our business to dedicated rock star reps. Fitting in fitness so to actually live the life I want to lead. Waking up to fitness, meditation, travel, relaxation time, which IS all happening and is our plan, but it could be happening at an accelerated and more outstanding rate. I feel the pain of it not happening when I’m driving 4 hours to do demos because we only hire the best reps and take time to train them properly. I’m dreaming of working out, a daily yoga practice, spending time at the river and having our business running smoothly simultaneously.

2. Figuring out the exact pricing of traveling this year to hawaii, tradeshows in CA, and other dreams to make reality such as traveling to and running the Tokyo Marathon. Basically, figuring out the exact price of our DREAMS, such as our off-the-grid earthship in hawaii, the price of land, the price of moving, the prices so we can achieve and succeed in our endeavors.

3. Finding time to do all the things that sing to be done in my heart. To draw, to make a cd of my music, to make funny youtube videos with Wynter and our friends, and much more!
